Centre for Archeology of Kiev Institute for Archeology in National Academy of Sciences favours creating of underground Archeology Museum near Kontraktova Square station (in Podol district, Kiev) for the period of its reconstruction.
Mikhail Sahaidak, the director of the Centre announced that the appropriate proposal has been sent to Kiev City State Administration.
“We vote for creating of a new underground archeological museum on Kontraktova Square. It is a project of exclusive modern underground space.”
According to Sahaidak, it is well-known among the scientists about whole old-Kiev mansions and residential areas dating 9th and 10th centuries. They are in top condition.
They had been found in the result of research work done in 1972-1973. But the decision on building the museum haven’t yet been made by the city authorities.
